Mortgage Banker Assistant - Raleigh

This position is based in our Cary, NC office, reporting to the Senior Vice President.

Job Duties: 

  • Assist top Mortgage Banker serving as primary liaison among customers, internal operations support, realtors, and title companies
  • Help manage Mortgage Banker pipeline while working with Processing, Underwriting, and Closing teams to ensure loans get closed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare mortgage applications and disclosures for signing
  • Structure loans in Encompass loan origination system
  • Review loan guidelines and analyze borrower qualifications
  • Consistently exceed borrower expectations and Realtor/Builder expectations. Always giving "Wow" service
  • Marketing tasks to include maximizing the Mortgage Banker’s CRM and past client business
  • Help organize events for the Bankers such as realtor luncheons, borrower meet 'n greets etc.
  • Continue to assume responsibilities and help the team grow

Job Requirements:

  • 4 year college degree, or commensurate mortgage or real estate experience
  • 1 + years of experience in Mortgage Industry, or industries with related skills such as real estate, retail, restaurant, customer service.
  • Spanish speaker strongly preferred
  • Experience with Encompass Loan Origination Software strongly preferred, but we will teach in training for the right candidate!
  • Experience with automated underwriting systems DU/LP preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated and require minimal supervision
  • Must be a team-player
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Favorable background and credit standing
  • A great sense of humor and upbeat nature strongly preferred!  

Only local candidates residing near Cary, NC will be considered. 

Miscellaneous Requirements:

  • Likes to happy hour, especially during patio season! 
  • Uses the phrase "crushing it" unironically 
  • Is a morning person, or at least can fake it with enough coffee
  • Knows how to use GIFs properly
